Common use

Colofac pills contain Mebeverin hydrochloride as the main ingredient. This drug refers to antispasmodic class of medications. The main chemical substance is used for smooth muscles relaxation in the gut. It helps your organism to relieve severe muscle spasms of the gut saving its usual motility. It is recommended to use for treating gastrointestinal diseases: chronic irritable colon or bowel syndrome, spastic constipation, spastic or mucous colitis.



Dosage and direction

This medication is taken 3 times within a day, 20 minutes before meals with a glass of fresh water. You should take the dosage indicated by your physician in the prescription. The dosage can be changed within a few weeks by your doctor. The period of treatment depends on your health condition and doctor’s recommendations.



Precautions

Be cautious using this drug when having angina or certain heart conditions, various liver problems, kidney problems and lactose intolerance. Your doctor must know whether you are pregnant or you feed a baby with breast milk. Treatment requires special care if you have any hereditary blood disorders called porphyrias.



Contraindications

If you missed a dosage, simply wait till the next one take it according to a usual schedule. If you noticed that a dose has been missed and the next one should be taken in quite a while, the one you’ve missed can be taken then to avoid missing it. Do not try to take double dose. Overdose

Storage
